This Cookie Policy describes how Runlinda Ltd uses cookies, localStorage and similar tools on runlinda.com. It should be read with the Privacy Policy. The venue address is Level 3, Chadstone Shopping Centre, 1341 Dandenong Road, Chadstone VIC 3148, Australia. Last updated 26 August 2026. Questions can be sent to info@runlinda.com or asked at reception on +61 3 9568 4400.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They can remember a language, a login, or a consent choice. Similar tools include localStorage, sessionStorage and pixels that load with a page. On this site we also use localStorage under the key cookie_consent so the banner does not return after you accept or close it. Cookies are not programs and cannot open files on your computer by themselves.
2. Why we use them
We use cookies and similar tools to keep the site working, to remember that you have seen the cookie banner, and, if you agree, to understand which pages are read so we can fix broken links and keep useful copy. We do not use cookies to sell a guest list. We do not use them to decide room rates. A booking is always confirmed by a person on the events desk, not by an advertising cookie.
3. Essential cookies
Essential tools are required for the site to function. They include the storage of your cookie banner choice, security tokens that stop some forms of abuse, and settings that keep a page readable. These tools do not require extra consent under most Australian guidance because the site cannot operate the banner or remember a refusal without them. If you block all cookies in the browser, the banner may appear again on each visit and some form features may be less reliable.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies, when enabled after you accept, help us see aggregated numbers: how many people open the venues page, whether the contact form is reached, and which device sizes fail. We look at counts, not at a named diary of your private browsing. Analytics data is kept only as long as it is useful for fixing the site, then deleted or summarised. You can decline analytics by closing the banner without accepting, or by clearing site data later.
5. Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies, if we switch them on after an accept, are used to measure whether a seasonal note or a search advert led someone to the enquiry form. They are not used to follow you around unrelated shopping sites for products we do not sell. If marketing tools are not active on a given day, accepting the banner still records your choice so we do not ask again. You can withdraw later by clearing localStorage for this domain or by emailing info@runlinda.com.
6. Local storage and cookie_consent
When you choose Accept or Close on the banner, the site writes a value to localStorage under the key cookie_consent. The values we store are simple flags such as “accepted” or “closed”. That flag is what stops the banner from showing again on the same browser. Clearing site data, using a private window, or opening a different device will look like a first visit, so the banner can appear again. We do not sync that flag to a server profile.
7. How long they last
Session tools expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies and localStorage remain until they expire or you delete them. The consent flag stays until you clear it. Analytics cookies, if used, typically last from a few hours to twenty-four months depending on the provider’s default. We prefer shorter periods where the tool allows it. Paper bookings at the venue do not depend on cookies at all.
8. Third-party tools
The contact page includes an OpenStreetMap embed so you can see the pin at Chadstone Shopping Centre. That frame is loaded from openstreetmap.org and may set its own cookies under that host. Fonts and still images on this site are served from our own files, so a first visit does not need a third-party font network. If we add an analytics or marketing script, we will name it here. You can block third-party cookies in your browser even if you have accepted our banner.
9. How to change your choice
Use the banner when it appears: Accept stores an accepted flag; Close stores a closed flag and hides the bar. To decide again, open your browser settings, remove cookies and site data for runlinda.com, then reload. On many phones this sits under Settings → Safari or Chrome → Site settings. We cannot remotely delete a cookie on your device. Emailing us does not clear a browser store, but we can confirm that we are not tying the flag to your booking file.
10. Browser controls
Every major browser lets you block, delete or alert on cookies. You can also send a “Do Not Track” signal; we treat that as a preference to keep optional analytics off where we control the script. Blocking all cookies can affect the mobile menu state only if a future version stores it; the current menu does not need cookies. If a page looks broken after a strict block, try allowing essential cookies for this host only.
11. Cookies and personal data
A cookie identifier can become personal information if it is combined with a name you typed on a form. We do not join analytics IDs to your wedding contract. Form fields are sent only when you submit, and that submission is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. The consent flag itself is not a name, email or phone number.
12. Children
We do not try to collect cookie data from children for marketing. If a family device is used to read this site, a parent can clear cookies afterwards. Evening pages that mention 18+ programmes are still readable; cookies do not act as an age gate on this build.
13. Updates
If we add a new category of cookie or change the banner, we will update this page and the date at the top. A material change may reset the need to show the banner again. We will not hide a new marketing tool inside an old “accepted” flag without saying so here.
